Learn the art of self-care by indulging in self-care practices.
In this 6-Week Self-Care Series, learn to better cope with stress,
unwind, calm the nervous system, relieve chronic pain, and chill out.
Walk away from each class regrounded, and firmly rooted back into the
earth with a vegan, and vegetarian snack and an essential oil.
Each week is a different theme, a different self-care practice, and a
more radical, restored you!
Week 1: Restorative Yoga – is known for calming the nervous system.
Enjoy supported poses with props to make you feel like your floating
on clouds. Poems and guided meditations will be read, along with soft
Week 2: Reiki with Thai Yoga Massage – enjoy Reiki, (universal life
energy) a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that
also promotes healing while being placed in gentle yoga poses with
massage bodywork along the energy lines of the body.
Week 3: iRest Yoga Nidra – created by Richard Miller, PhD. to help
those suffering from trauma, to include PTSD, anxiety, depression,
addictions, sleeping disorders, chronic fatigue, and eating disorders.
In this class, reconnect with your inherent wholeness, find a place of
refuge, of ease, of security, experience your true nature, and come
home to yourself.
Week 4: Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy – Learn about the 3 doshas, kapha,
pitta, and vata, and take an assessment to see what your dominant
dosha. The Sanskrit word “dosha” literally means “that which becomes
imbalanced. This reflects the Ayurvedic belief that people of
different constitutions, left to their own devices, often make
lifestyle decisions—and choose yoga practices—that tend to put
them further out of balance.
Vata governs all movement in the mind and body. It controls blood
flow, elimination of wastes, breathing and the movement of thoughts
across the mind. Since Pitta and Kapha cannot move without it, Vata is
considered the leader of the three Ayurvedic Principles in the body.
Learn how to balance your Vata in this class, and what type of yoga
practice would be most beneficial for you based on your Ayurveda dosha
Week 5: Meditation with Sound Therapy – enjoy an hour of meditation
with candles, incense, and healing sound therapy. We will spend
25-minutes in seated meditation, 10-minutes in walking meditation, and
end class with another 25-minute seated meditation.
Week 6: Sekoia – created by Yoga On High, this class is a vinyasa
style yoga class involving all of your five senses. Take a journey
like no other into the magical world of the chakras, and walk away
with very own set of chakra balancing crystals!
